Irvine, California (December 7, 2021) - As Mazda's flagship three-row mid-size crossover SUV, the CX-9 has played an important role in helping to introduce the many premium values embodied by Mazda vehicles. The current generation of CX-9 introduced the Skayctiv-G 2.5 Turbo engine and the brand's top Signature model for the first time. Now, for 2022, the mid-size crossover has a standard i-Activ AWD, which helps to enhance the confidence performance of the family's value in daily driving. Mazda's North American business department announced today that the 2022 Mazda CX-9 will arrive at dealers this winter.
CX-9 SPORT as standard equipment, all CX-9 models are powered by Skyactiv-G 2.5 Turbo engine and a six-speed automatic transmission with manual and sport modes. The CX-9 offers an impressive 250 horsepower and a powerful 320 pound-feet of torque, using premium 93 octane fuel, 227 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, using regular 87 octane fuel.
CX-9 is a new product in 2022, and now has a standard i-Activ AWD, which can enhance driving dynamics, handling and vehicle control, allowing drivers to enjoy the experience in most terrains and conditions. Mazda's unique i-Activ AWD system continuously monitors the weight distribution and transfers the power to the appropriate wheels, providing the driver with a near-instant input response. In addition, all CX-9 models are equipped with G-Vectoring Control Plus and off-road traction assist system.
CX-9 Sport is equipped with a series of standard i-Activsense safety features, such as Mazda radar cruise control system with stop and move function, smart brake support with collision warning, pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, rear intersection warning and Lane departure warning with lane keeping assist.
As standard, the CX-9 Sport is a seven-seater crossover SUV with sliding and reclining bench seats in the second row, including an armrest with a cup holder. Each CX-9 model provides three-year free Mazda Connected Services, provides the ability to remotely monitor and control the status of the vehicle by logging in to the MyMazda application, and provides in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot 2 for a three-month or 2GB trial. Whichever comes first. A focal point of the well-equipped interior is the 10.25-inch full-color central display, equipped with the latest Mazda Connect infotainment system, which can be controlled via a multi-function command knob and integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other standard features include heated front seats, button activation, remote keyless entry system, leather-wrapped gearshift and steering wheel with installed audio, Bluetooth and cruise control buttons, dual front USB inputs, six-speaker audio system, triple Zone automatic climate control, black cloth seat with eight-way electric driver's seat and lumbar support, four-way manual adjustable passenger seat, electronic parking brake, rear-view camera, and privacy glass on the rear side and rear door windows.
The exterior of the CX-9 Sport uses gray metal 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, a brightly-finished front grille, automatic on/off LED headlights with high beam control, heated rearview mirrors with integrated LED turn signals, and LED day lights. Interval running lights, LED taillights, rear roof spoiler, roof-mounted shark fin antenna and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
CX-9 Touring CX-9 Touring focuses on upgraded seats. The first and second rows of seats use black or sand-colored leather seats, six-way electric passenger seats, and two USB charging ports in the second row. This model also updated the second-row sliding and tilting functions to make it easier to enter the third row. Other new additions include electric lift doors, Mazda advanced keyless entry and auto-dimming rearview mirrors with HomeLink.
TOURING PREMIUM package The optional Touring Premium package can only be equipped on the CX-9 Touring model to expand the functions that the occupants will enjoy. With this kit, the second-row seat configuration can be selected as a three-seater bench seat or a two-seater captain's chair with armrests and a central passage. Other features included in this kit include Bose 12 speaker premium audio, cordless phone charger, power sunroof, front and rear parking sensors, two third-row USB charging ports, LED fog lights, second-row retractable sun visor and SiriusXM satellite with Trial subscription radio for three months.
CX-9 TOURING PLUS The new CX-9 Touring Plus enhances the value and styling that customers will appreciate in the mid-size crossover model lineup. This model includes all the functions of the CX-9 Touring with the Touring Premium package, while adding ventilated front seats, an electric driver's seat with memory function, black metal 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels, bright black front grille, Aluminum roof rails and frameless rearview mirrors.
CX-9 Carbon Fiber Edition Following its continued success, the CX-9 Carbon Fiber Edition will return as a 6-seater mid-size crossover in the 2022 model year, equipped with heated second-row captain's seat, armrests and central aisle. Carbon Edition models can be identified by the Polymetal Grey exterior paint color, which is highlighted by the chrome trim on the bright black automatic electric folding door mirrors and the lower trim. Inside, the CX-9 Carbon Edition is equipped with red leather seats with aluminum interiors, LED door pocket lighting, LED door handles, overhead LED lighting, and black metal decorations on the dashboard, door panels and handle frames. In addition to the standard functions of the Touring model, the CX-9 Carbon Edition also adds a heated steering wheel with shift paddles, hands-free electric lift doors, 7-inch LCD multi-information instrument display, rear smart city braking support, adaptive front Wheel lighting system and windshield wiper de-icer.
CX-9 GRAND Touring CX-9 Grand Touring inherits the functions of the Touring model, combines the functions of the carbon fiber version, and adds silver metal 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels and automatic electric folding door mirrors in the body color. CX-9 Grand Touring can choose to configure the heated second-row seats as benches or captain chairs with armrests and central aisle. The first and second-row seats can choose black or sand-colored leather. Other features include a 360° view monitor, active driving display with traffic sign recognition, Mazda navigation and a three-year SiriusXM Traffic & Travel Link subscription, which provides information about traffic, weather, sports scores, fuel prices and nearby parking spaces Current information.
CX-9 SIGNATURE As the highest-level model, CX-9 Signature expands the functions of Grand Touring and enhances the experience with products unique to Signature models. The heated second-row captain's seat provides a first-class feel, and the center console has an armrest storage box like the first row, which facilitates the use of heated seat buttons and cup holders. The premium interior includes Nappa leather first and second rows of seats, available in dark maroon or parchment. The first and second rows of seats are uniquely quilted and piping, adding to the elegance of the CX-9 Signature. Other styling details include the Santos Rosewood interior, aluminum patterns on the dashboard and door handle borders, and unique stitching on the steering wheel. External upgrades include 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels with bright silver finish, titanium gray metal front grille with LED lighting accents, larger dual exhaust pipes and iconic badges attached to the lift door to complete the masterpiece.
