NORTHERN VIRGINIA — Good morning, Northern Virginia and DC Patch readers! You may see more traffic as travelers to Labor Day weekend destinations combine with commuters. Before you head out the door, check out Patch's traffic report — which covers Northern Virginia and D.C.

Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your morning commute on Friday, Sept. 2.

As of 7:48 a.m., a crash was reported on southbound DC-295 near Suitland Parkway/South Capital Street in Washington, DC. Drivers can continue using caution.

As of 7:46 a.m., a disabled vehicle closed one eastbound I-66 lane about 0.1 miles west of I-495/exit 64B in Fairfax County.

As of 7:43 a.m., a disabled vehicle closed the northbound right shoulder on northbound I-495 at Robinson Terminal in Fairfax County.

As of 7:40 a.m., a disabled vehicle closed the northbound right shoulder of I-395 between Duke Street and Seminary Road in Fairfax County/Alexandria.

As of 7:39 a.m., a disabled vehicle closed the northbound right shoulder on northbound I-495 between Braddock Road and Little River Turnpike in Fairfax County.

As of 7:32 a.m., a disabled vehicle closed the southbound right shoulder on I-95 near Route 610 in Prince William County.

As of 7:28 a.m., delays are possible on westbound I-66 east of Sudley Road in Prince William County due to a disabled tractor trailer. The westbound right shoulder is closed.

As of 7:09 a.m., police activity is blocking all lanes of 18th Street SE between Q Street SE and Minnesota Ave SE in Washington, DC. Drivers should follow police direction.

On the Orange Line, the Minnesota Ave, Deanwood, Cheverly, Landover and New Carrollton remain closed through Labor Day due to a summer platform improvement project. Local and express shuttles are available at Stadium-Armory.

The Virginia Railway Express will be free for all riders starting Thursday and throughout the month of September.

No hazardous weather is in the forecast, according to the National Weather Service. The day will be mostly sunny, with a high near 87. At night, partly cloudy, with a low around 69.
