A single stop in Baldwin County netted a supply of THC snacks, more than eight pounds of fentanyl and about 50 pounds of "high-grade marijuana."BCSO

The unusual display was part of load of drugs recently intercepted by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. According to a statement released Friday by the BCSO, the hoard included “approximately 50 pounds of high-grade marijuana, 25 pounds of various THC candies, cereals, edibles and over eight pounds of fentanyl,” a drug infamous for being deadly in tiny doses.

According to information released by the sheriff’s office, a deputy assigned to the BCSO special operations unit pulled over a pickup truck with Georgia plates for an unspecified traffic violation. The stop took place Wednesday near the 34-mile marker on northbound I-65, which would put it just northeast of the causeway across the Mobile-Tensaw Delta near Bay Minette.

“During the stop, the deputy became suspicious that the suspect may be trafficking in illegal narcotics,” said the release. A search of a trailer being pulled by the truck revealed the drugs.

According to the BCSO, Howard Labadie Grant, 52, of Snellville, Ga., told deputies he was headed to the Atlanta area and then to Pennsylvania. He is being held in the Baldwin County Corrections Center on no bond, facing two counts of drug trafficking.
