A 23-year-old man was critically injured Monday morning after crashing his motorcycle into a box truck in Vista, sheriff’s officials said.
The crash happened about 11 a.m. when the driver of the box truck made a U-turn in front of the motorcyclist on Melrose Drive, just north of North Drive, sheriff’s Sgt. Eric Cottrell said.
Deputies found the rider, who suffered major injuries, unresponsive in the roadway. Paramedics took him to a hospital in critical condition, Cottrell said.
The sergeant said investigators believe neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the crash. The investigation was ongoing.
