Mythic Quest season 3 trailer teases rivaling game developers as Rob McElhenney's Ian Grimm takes on his former colleagues and his former company.

Rob McElhenney's Ian Grimm and David Hornsby's David Brittlesbee prepare for a battle between game developers in Mythic Quest season 3's new trailer. The Apple TV+ comedy series follows McElhenney's game developer, and the development of the popular MMORPG he created. Mythic Quest season 3 was greenlit alongside season 4 in October 2021, with season 3 set to premiere on November 11.

After Mythic Quest branched into mobile gaming, begun development on an all-new expansion pack and saw major leadership changes in season 2, the employees of the game development company are back in Mythic Quest season 3. Season 2 concluded with Ian and Poppy (Charlotte Nicdao) realizing they cannot do anything more for the company and decide to leave to start a new venture together, leaving David to take the reins of the company with Jo (Jessie Ennis) at his side. Meanwhile, Rachel (Ashly Burch) and Dana (Imani Hakim) leave to further their educations, while Brad (Danny Pudi) is arrested for inside trading when attempting to make himself out as a bad boy. While it seemed like the cast had gone their separate ways after two seasons and two bonus Mythic Quest special episodes, season 3's latest trailer promises to reunite the former colleagues, but on less friendly terms.

Just over a month ahead of its premiere, the new Mythic Quest season 3 trailer from Apple TV+ gives audiences a glimpse at the whereabouts of the cast after they parted ways, with Ian and Poppy hard at work at new company GrimPop Studios, David overseeing Mythic Quest, and Brad returning as a janitor following his arrest. However, as David and Jo see Mythic Quest branch out further than it had before, tensions between them and their former bosses begin to boil over, leading to fierce rivalries. While Mythic Quest season 3's previous trailer was light on story details, the latest has offered more insight into what is sparking the rivalry between Ian, Poppy, and David. As revealed during the new trailer, David's successful handling of the company has opened up its properties to exciting new opportunities, such as high-budget Hollywood adaptations of their flagship MMORPG. With Mythic Quest thriving and reaching new heights without him, and having been left out of the movie-making progress, Ian's already quite-inflated ego is bruised. With Ian distracted and clinging to the past, he neglects his duties at GrimPop Studios, placing the pressures of coming up with the studio's debut title on Poppy's shoulders, despite embarking on the venture together after realizing they could no longer themselves grow while at Mythic Quest.

With season 3 potentially shaking up character dynamics further, Mythic Quest's latest trailer promises that the upcoming season will take the cast in directions audiences haven't seen before. While nearly everyone left on amicable terms at the end of season 2, season 3 will pit them against on a much more personal level, each other while poking fun at other recent trends in the video game industry, including Hollywood's growing interest in gaming IPs and the potential of the Metaverse. With tensions rising and Ian and David set to go to war, Mythic Quest season 3 is set to show off a whole new side of the game development industry.
