The City of Burlington issues permits for the construction and installation of signs, including:

By getting a sign permit, you can make sure your sign meets all the requirements of the Ontario Building Code and Sign Bylaw. The Sign Bylaw sets the size, use, location and maintenance of signs and advertising devices within the City.

There are different permits for different types of signs, sign variances and site alterations. You can submit any of the following permit application forms to us at bylaw@burlington.ca

Signs have permit fees depending on the type and size of sign:

The fee for a fascia or ground sign permit depends on the size of the sign.

The fee for a permit for a billboard of any size is $798

The fee for a permit for a portable sign of any size is $51 for each 15-day period.
