Oh no, it might be time to say goodbye to your favorite Ford F-150 configurations and options. Some packages and models are being dropped to simplify production, meaning fewer options are available. See which 2023 Ford F-150 features are being discontinued. 

Many changes are on the horizon for the 2023 Ford F-150, but not all of the updates are good. According to Ford Authority, things are a little too complex, and some options are being dropped to increase production. 

Ford CEO, Jim Farley, shared that models powered by internal combustion engines (ICE) are too complicated. As a result, fewer new vehicle configurations are making it to dealership lots. Inventory consists of the most popular selling models. 

So Ford will remove a few options to streamline production and deliveries. But if these models aren’t popular, maybe you won’t miss them. But if the truck you want is going away, go ahead and order it before production ends. 

The latest 2023 Ford F-150 option to get the ax is the Ford F-150 Lariat Super Cab configuration. This means it will only be available in the SuperCrew cab because no other options are available. 

Each model will have a longer cab, increasing the amount of passenger and cargo space available. However, this option is only available with two shorter bed sizes. If you want a longer bed, consider another trim level. 

Other options that are only available with the SuperCrew configuration include the Ford Maverick and Ford F-150 Lightning. 

Also, the top-spec Limited trim is only available with the hybrid engine. It uses a 3.6-liter V6 engine, an electric motor, and a battery pack to crank out 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque. It can tow up to 12,700 lbs and has an EPA-estimated range of 700 miles on a single tank. 

The F-150 Tremor is dropping the less expensive standard Equipment 400A Group. The 401A Equipment Group costs $6,600 more, so the Tremor has a significant price increase. The 2022 Tremor starts at $54,120, while the 2023 model increases the price to $60,110. 

With the 401A Group, you get heated front seats, an 8.0-inch productivity screen in the digital gauge cluster, LED fog lamps with an LED Corning lamp, and LED reflector lights. 

Four-wheel drive is now standard with most of the 2023 Ford Super Duty models. Only the X super Duty trim is available with front-wheel drive, 

The waiting times for the 2023 Ford F-150 vary based on supply chain issues and the ongoing semiconductor chip shortage. While it typically takes about 10 to 12 weeks to build a new truck, you could be waiting between three to six months for your order. 

You will be notified once your build enters production. Then between the third and tenth weeks, you will get your vehicle identification number (VIN) and estimated time of arrival (ETA). There’s a final preparation step once it arrives at the dealership.
