Cadillac takes to YouTube to show us more of the Cadillac super luxurious electric vehicle.

Cadillac has been teasing the Celestiq as its upcoming flagship sedan.

With electric vehicles slowly but surely becoming the mainstream, the Celestiq should pave the way for General Motors in the premium and luxury sector.

Since it’s an all-electric flagship, the Celestiq signals the direction Cadillac is heading to.

To render such direction in a clearer manner, Cadillac finally unveiled the Celestiq show car, which previews the overall design of the final production version of the brand’s future handcrafted and all-electric flagship sedan.

Since the Celestiq show car is essentially a working prototype, it will serve as a touchstone for the Cadillac design and engineering teams.

In creating the show car, these design and engineering teams took inspiration from the V-16 powered coaches of the prewar era, as well as the hand-crafted 1957 Eldorado Brougham.

Designers also took inspiration from classic architecture, such as the mid-century masterpieces of architect Eero Saarinen, as well as other iconic American designs.

Cadillac’s design and engineering teams infused and realized the above-stated inspirations within an Ultium-based EV architecture.

This resulted in a new show car with a clean-sheet expression -- one that could transform an entire trip into a curated experience that could evoke an emotional response.

To ensure this experience, designers combined the beauty of function with the beauty of form; thereby reconsidering all aspects – including the finest genuine materials, exceptional detailing and advanced technology -- that should immerse all senses.

As a show car, the Cadillac Celestiq prototype previews some materials, technologies and hand-crafted attention to detail that would find their way into the production version.

For instance, the Celestiq show car features five advanced LED interactive HD displays, which include a 55-inch-diagonal advanced LED display.

This is a massive passenger display with an active privacy technology that could block the passenger’s video content from the view of the driver.

The Celestiq show car also comes with a variable-transmission Smart Glass Roof, which features Suspended Particle Device (SPD) technology that enables four zones of variable lighting, thereby allowing for a completely personalized comfort and visibility.

In addition, the Celestiq show car features the Ultra Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology - Cadillac will announce the availability of the production version of Celestiq at a later date.

Cadillac will build the Celestiq at GM’s Global Technical Center.

GM is investing around $81 million to support its assembly at the landmark campus.
